One piece of advice I can offer is to know what type of shopper you are. Knowing your type will better help you save money. There are typically three types of shoppers. The first is someone who does not like to shop, my son is one, therefore you only go to the store if something is needed and leave as quickly as possible. The second is someone with a busy schedule who has little time to shop. I was this type of shopper when my kids were little. The third is someone who has time to shop and spend the time to look for deals. This is me now.
If you are the first type of shopper your easiest way to save is the following. Join the retailers reward program, shop sale items and download coupons from their mobile app. This will take little time and still allow you to save on your purchases.
If you are the second type of shopper your easiest ways to save money is the following. Join the retailers reward program, shop sales and clearance, download or print coupons and make a list. Making a list of what you need will cut your time shopping and help you save money by not buying what you don't need.
If you are the third type of shopper you will save the most and usually spend the least. First by joining the retailers reward programs, shop sales and clearance items and download or print coupons. You can also make a list if there are things that you need to shop for. I recommend the following tips.
Sign up for email offers and mail offers to get extra discounts. Know the sizes of your family or family members and keep it on you for those unexpected deals. For groceries do the name brand coupons as well as the store coupons usually you can use both at the same time. Shop discount stores for an already lower price. For clothing go straight to the clearance racks. I always start at one end and go through the rack checking prices and sizes. I have found many great deals this way. My most recent a $1.00 shirt. This of course will mean a longer shopping trip but i have found it well worth it. With it even ending with free items once I use my coupons and rewards. Happy Saving.
